Domaine Vincent et Sophie Morey
Domaine Vincent et Sophie Morey is a family-run Burgundy estate based in Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune, known for producing both white and red wines from a range of prestigious appellations across southern Burgundy. The domaine was established in 2006 by Vincent Morey and his wife Sophie, both of whom come from long-established winemaking families—Vincent from Chassagne-Montrachet and Sophie from Santenay—and they produced their first vintage together in 2007.
The estate farms around 20 hectares of vineyards spread across key villages such as Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, and Maranges, giving them access to a wide diversity of terroirs. Their holdings include village-level wines, numerous Premier Crus (such as Les Caillerets, Les Embazées, and Les Baudines), and even a Grand Cru parcel in Bâtard-Montrachet. The vineyards are worked with a strong emphasis on sustainability and careful, hands-on viticulture, including hand harvesting and a philosophy that quality begins in the vineyard.
Stylistically, Domaine Vincent et Sophie Morey is best known for its rich yet balanced white Burgundy, primarily from Chardonnay, showing ripe fruit, subtle buttery and nutty notes, and a rounded texture supported by freshness and good aging potential. At the same time, the estate also produces refined Pinot Noir wines that reflect the elegance and structure typical of the Côte de Beaune. The overall approach combines traditional Burgundian methods—such as barrel fermentation and aging—with a precise, vineyard-focused philosophy aimed at expressing each site clearly.
Overall, the domaine is considered a reliable and increasingly respected producer in Chassagne-Montrachet, appreciated for its consistency, breadth of appellations, and ability to craft wines that balance richness, freshness, and terroir expression.
