| TASTING NOTES: | There is yet another Verdejo from a plot that Ismael Gozalo considers his 'grand cru'. It is called 2015 Respública Verdejo Finca El Carril and it's made from grapes that in the past were used for the Capitel from Ossian. This fermented and matured in 228-liter oak barrels for some 14 months. The oak is older here and feels quite nicely integrated. It has a fluid palate, with good natural acidity that balances the ripeness and alcohol, which makes it very apt for the table. He also used a little sulphur at bottling time for this wine. Some 580 bottles were filled from two barriques. |
