Domaine Ramonet
Domaine Ramonet is one of Burgundy’s most esteemed wine estates, renowned for producing some of the finest white wines, particularly from the village of Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. Known for its exceptional Chardonnay, the domaine is celebrated for its wines from prestigious grand cru vineyards such as Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet.
These wines are prized for their richness, complexity, and longevity, often displaying citrus, mineral, and flinty notes. Though best known for its whites, Domaine Ramonet also produces highly regarded red wines from Pinot Noir, notably from Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay, which are admired for their finesse and balance. The domaine was founded in the 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, who elevated it to one of Burgundy’s top producers through his meticulous attention to terroir and winemaking. Today, it is run by his grandchildren, Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, who continue the legacy of crafting wines of extraordinary depth and character.
The vineyards are located in prime terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, where the limestone-rich soils impart the signature minerality and structure of the wines. Domaine Ramonet adheres to a traditional winemaking philosophy, using natural methods with minimal intervention and long aging in oak barrels to preserve the purity and expression of each vineyard. Known for their exceptional aging potential, the best Ramonet wines reveal their full complexity after many years in the bottle. With a legendary reputation, particularly for its white wines, Domaine Ramonet remains a benchmark for quality in Burgundy, highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs worldwide.
