TASTING NOTES:	Clos Fourtet’s 2004 is a worthy successor to their brilliant 2003, a breakthrough vintage for this estate. Much of the credit goes to the new owner, Philippe Cuvelier, who has brought renewed vigor to this famous property. Harvested between October 4 - 19, the 2004 (a blend of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc) does not possess the power of its predecessor, but it offers a dark purple color as well as a gloriously sweet nose of raspberries, creme de cassis, licorice, and smoke. This seamless, medium to full-bodied effort exhibits more texture and intensity than many of its peers. There is even a degree of fatness, a characteristic not generally found in this vintage.
