| TASTING NOTES: | The 2022 Ja-Naï Poulsard has power and concentration with a iodine twist and notes of blood orange. This 2022 has a deeper color than your average Poulsard, and Kenjiro said he's not bothered by the fashion of very pale and light examples of the grape. This is quite perfumed, and it opened up with time in the glass. It has tannins and is nicely built and shows ripeness but no excess. With more time, it unfurled new layers of aromas, showing complexity, length and depth, turning textured and mineral. It feels a little too young, though, but it should finish at the top end of my estimated window... |
