| TASTING NOTES: | The bottled 2021 Mizuiro Chardonnay is awesome. It's reductive, with brutal concentration and saltiness, and it really makes you salivate. It's fresh and balanced. Magnificent! It comes from marl soils and feels quite reductive and flinty. It was cropped from a cold year of frost when Kagami got tiny yields of 1,000 liters per hectare; the quantity is low, but the quality is high. This had the planned three years of élevage. It's incredible, powerful and fresh with an amazing mouthfeel. He believes this will last for 10 years (I'd say more) and at age 15 could start fading. |
