| TASTING NOTES: | Healthy dark red. A touch of meaty reduction to the complex aromas of plum, earth and smoky minerals, with the stem element bringing nuances of white pepper, spices and menthol. Tactile, solid, salty wine; more soil-driven and drier than the basic village offering in the early going, with its fruit still in the background--but then this is still in barrels while the other wine has been assembled. Conveys a considerably more austere impression along with noteworthy energy. Combines very good breadth with good energy and a light touch. Finishes with serious, firm-edged tannins and excellent rising length and glistening minerality. |
