| TASTING NOTES: | Madame Barthod’s 2021 Châtelots is an excellent wine as well, with a touch more black fruity influence than the Combottes. The sappy nose jumps from the glass in a blaze of red and black plums, cherries, dark chocolate, gamebird, chalky soil, gamebird, just a touch of mustard seed and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and focused, with lovely sappiness at the core, fine complexity, suave tannins and a long, complex and very pure finish. Fine, fine juice.
