| TASTING NOTES: | This special edition Gold Label Barolo was last produced in 2006. The 2009 Barolo Riserva Bussia Gold Label will be released in September and only 1,000 precious bottles were produced. This wine is currently living a beautiful moment in its evolutionary path. Primary fruit tones of blackberry and dried cherry are followed by elegant tones of licorice, tar and campfire ash. As a whole, those aromas are portrayed with opulence, depth and lasting intensity. The wine also shows extraordinary grace with a smooth and polished finish. The Parusso family tells me that this wine took many years before the bouquet fully blossomed. However, today, it has fully opened and shows its ongoing potential and nuanced complexity in full. |
