| TASTING NOTES: | From 0.4ha on the slope just north of Mazis-Chambertin. Half of the vines date to 1920; the balance were planted in the 1960s. Bachelet makes the wine as rest of the wines are made: destemming everything and punching down daily during fermentation, but here 50% new casks are used. The wine has enough substance so that the oak spice doesn't dominate, and the pure red and black fruit shines through. A notable step up from the village wine in terms of structure and length. |
