| TASTING NOTES: | Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. Sourced from five parcels of 70-90 year old vines that are worked by horse. There is a sorbet-like freshness on the nose with dark cherry fruit, orange zest, stem ginger and a touch of glacier cherry. Very vibrant and beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied and well defined, the oak just a little dominant at the moment (perhaps 70-80% would have been better) but the tannins are very fine and there is an arching purity to this Champeaux that cannot be ignored. Quite modern in style and oaky towards the finish. Tasted November 2010. |
