About Domaine Pierre-Olivier Garcia

Domaine Pierre-Olivier Garcia is one of Burgundy's most exciting new-generation estates, founded in 2016 in Nuits-Saint-Georges by Pierre-Olivier Garcia. Despite its young age, the domaine has quickly earned a reputation for producing some of the Côte de Nuits' most distinctive and terroir-driven wines. Beginning with just a tiny parcel of vines, Garcia has gradually expanded his holdings while also working with carefully selected growers whose vineyards he farms to his own exacting standards.

A defining feature of the domaine is its commitment to biodiversity and regenerative viticulture. Pierre-Olivier experiments with cover crops, trees, cereals, and even grazing chickens to restore life to the vineyards, believing that healthy ecosystems are essential for producing expressive wines. In the cellar, he follows a low-intervention philosophy, employing native yeast fermentations and a highly meticulous "baie-par-baie" technique, in which a portion of the grapes are individually cut from the stems by hand to preserve the integrity of each berry and enhance aromatic precision. This painstaking method has become a signature of the estate and contributes to the wines' remarkable finesse and purity.

The domaine produces an impressive range of wines, including Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Rouge, Côte de Nuits-Villages, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru, Corton Grand Cru, and Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. Standout bottlings such as Les Grandes Vignes, Les Charmois, Au Leurey, and Les Valozières have attracted significant attention for their precision, floral aromatics, and transparent expression of site. The wines typically combine vibrant red and black fruit, lifted floral notes, silky tannins, fresh acidity, and finely integrated oak, resulting in Burgundies that are both approachable in youth and capable of graceful aging.

Although still a relatively young producer, Pierre-Olivier Garcia is widely regarded as one of Burgundy's rising stars. Sommeliers, collectors, and wine enthusiasts increasingly place the domaine alongside other modern benchmark producers who combine meticulous viticulture with thoughtful, low-intervention winemaking. Limited production and growing international demand have made the wines increasingly difficult to obtain, reinforcing their status as one of Burgundy's most sought-after emerging estates.
