TASTING NOTES:	I revisited Pierre-Yves Colin's 2015 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière from my cellar, and while the wine is slowly emerging from post-bottling hibernation, it remains very youthful, unwinding in the glass with a subtle bouquet of citrus oil, green apple, crisp Anjou pear and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, with good depth at the core, incisive acids and a palpable sense of chalky dry extract. While there's a certain sweetness of fruit that nods to the vintage, this is beautifully rendered and is beginning to realize the potential it showed from barrel.

About Domaine Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a highly regarded winemaker in Burgundy, France, known for crafting exceptional white wines, particularly from Chardonnay grapes. He comes from a prestigious winemaking family; his father is Marc Colin and his brother is Jean-Marc Colin. Pierre-Yves gained experience working alongside his father at Domaine Marc Colin before establishing his eponymous domaine in 2005.

Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is renowned for his meticulous vineyard management and minimalist winemaking approach, which allows the terroir to express itself fully in the wines. He focuses on small yields and rigorous grape selection, often working with old-vine parcels in prime vineyard sites throughout Burgundy's Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits appellations, notably Saint-Aubin, Meursault and Montrachet.

One of the hallmarks of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey's winemaking style is his use of oak barrels.
