| TASTING NOTES: | From gravelly soils next to the village of Bergheim (straight behind the domaine), the 2013 Engelgarten opens with a clear, deep, cool, fresh and intense bouquet of lemon and earth flavors. Full-bodied, round and elegant on the palate, the wine has a fine, racy acidity and a nice, tactile/grainy tannin grip. The finish is pure, fresh and firm, with nice structure and a clear reflection of the deeper soils of the Engelagarten. Lots of Riesling features here. |
