| TASTING NOTES: | The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru displays more tropes of the warm growing season than the Champ Canet from Sauzet: brushes of dried mango, honeysuckle and a touch of beeswax. The palate is balanced, with a pleasant saltiness on the entry allied with a pleasing nuttiness that becomes more prominent toward the finish. This has cohesion and length, and quite a sophisticated finish that belies the tropically tinged nose. I would give this two or three years in bottle because I suspect it will turn into an excellent Champ Canet. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |
