TASTING NOTES:	The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Perrières reveals aromas of sweet white peach, flowers and pastry cream, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and sweet palate, concluding with an attractively saline finish.

Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru wines are among the most refined and sought-after expressions of Chardonnay in Burgundy. Located in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, the village of Puligny-Montrachet has built a global reputation for producing wines defined by precision, minerality, and ageing potential.

Puligny-Montrachet is home to a significant number of Premier Cru vineyards, with around 100 hectares classified at this level, each offering a distinct expression of terroir . These vineyards are typically planted on limestone-rich soils with excellent drainage, creating ideal conditions for Chardonnay to achieve both tension and aromatic clarity.

The style of Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru is often characterised by purity and structure rather than power. The wines typically display notes of citrus, green apple, white flowers, and crushed stone, supported by a firm mineral backbone. Compared to neighbouring Chassagne-Montrachet, Puligny wines tend to be more linear and focused, with a strong emphasis on balance and precision.
